This painting is inspired by a beautiful sunset I experienced on the beach in St. Petersburg, FL. People gather around every night at the edge of the water to enjoy the beautiful colors as the sun begins its nightly descent into the ocean. The sound of the waves and breeze serve as a perfect accompaniment for this breathtaking spectacle.
As a self-taught artist, my love for the visual arts began at age five, finding inspiration in my creative experiences with clay and pencil. The positive responses I have received from those who have seen my artwork has added to my motivation to continue exploring artistic media. The artwork below represents some of the drawings and paintings I have produced recently, when I have been able to carve out creative time for myself. My present focus is working with pastels, having always had great admiration for the masterpieces by Degas. I have exhibited my work in art shows in North Carolina and South Florida.
